LABTECH’s latest application note was produced in our new in-house laboratory, which is really exciting for us all.
The application deals with the detection of a LAMP assay on a FLUOstar Omega microplate reader with 65°C heating (LAMP is commonly run on a thermocycler).
As a proof of principle, detection of SARS- CoV-2 was used. With a run time of 30 min, LAMP assays represent a fast alternative to classically used nucleic acid amplification methods like PCR.
The AppNote is intended to show that our readers with incubation feature up to 65°C can be used to incubate and analyse colorimetric LAMP assays at the same time. AN356: LAMP assay for detecting SARS-CoV-2 RNA using an absorbance-based colorimetric readout
